Why ModelGuide exists
Apple product names can look simple on the surface, but model numbers, hardware identifiers, chip generations and software versions quickly make identification confusing. ModelGuide brings those pieces together in one consistent place so a quick lookup can become a useful answer.
What ModelGuide is built around
Get to the right model quickly
Search by name, model number, identifier or chip. The details that help identify a device are kept together and easy to scan.
Clear and calm by design
Useful information gets a clear place without unnecessary screens or technical clutter getting in the way.
Privacy without an account
ModelGuide does not require an account. Favorites, recent history and preferences are designed to stay on your device.
Ready for new models
Device and software reference data can be updated as new models and software versions become available.
About the catalog
ModelGuide uses structured reference data assembled from public and open sources. Source and licensing details are published separately, and corrections are welcome when a record can be improved. Catalog data is intended as a practical reference and may change as new information becomes available.
Where the project is now
ModelGuide is currently in testing while the catalog, translations and App Store presentation are being refined. The website is already live so privacy, support and source information remain easy to find throughout the release process.
